This course will provide a workshop setting in which both beginner and intermediate pottery students can increase their skills and knowledge. Students will learn numerous techniques for making pottery on the potters wheel and with hand building. The focus will be on utilitarian forms. Topics will include centering, using potters tools, throwing basic and intermediate forms, altering forms, hand building, glazing, and firing an electric kiln. Many decorative and texture techniques will be explored as well as students making their own clay stamps. Students will need to bring pottery tools. (Kit approximately $20).

Upon completion of the ESL program, students are eligible to continue in the Adult Basic Education or High School Equivalency programs.
