Continuing Education
Each year we help hundreds of local companies prepare to navigate today's evolving business environment by providing quality training programs, producing quality graduates prepared to succeed in today's workforce, furnishing state-of-the-art meeting and conference spaces and more. | Continuing Education courses are non-credit classes to be skill enhancing for personal interest. Classes are open to anyone at least 18 years of age. Students should register at least one week prior to the beginning date of the class. |
Continuing Education Registration Form - Simply fill in the form, print it, and mail, fax or take the form to the Continuing Education department.
Adult Basic Education
The Adult Basic Education Program (ABE) is a major program at The Learning Center. Statewide, as well as at the local level, more than 80 percent of the student population in the enrolled in The Learning Center programs place at the ABE level.
Adult High School
The AHS (grades 9-12) program allows adults to complete the necessary high school material which will earn them a high school diploma. The program is operated in conjunction with Cleveland County Schools. Students who complete the Adult High School Program (AHS) will receive a Cleveland Community College Adult High School Diploma.
General Educational Development
GED preparation classes are offered on-campus, off-campus, and online. The classes are free of charge. All GED students who take the official practice GED test must obtain a score of 500 or higher on each section before they take the official GED test. After demonstrating readiness to take one or more parts of the GED test, students are required to pay a $7.50 examination fee. Before taking the test(s), students must also present a Social Security card, and a North Carolina driver’s license or a North Carolina Identification Card to the GED examiner.
American Heart Association
Cleveland Community College's, AHA Community Training Center (CCC-CTC) exists to provide initial and ongoing training in BLS, ACLS, and PALS to the citizens of this region and its communities.
Career Readiness Certificate
The Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) certifies core employability skills required across multiple industries and occupations. The CRC is a portable credential that promotes career development and skills gap training.
Ed2Go
Ed2Go courses will be delivered in an online interactive format via the Internet. You will be able to read lessons, complete assignments, and ask questions via the convenience of your home or office. Each course consists of twelve sets of written lecture notes, to be delivered by Internet twice a week for six weeks. The notes will be supplemented by interactive multimedia content to be delivered via the World Wide Web.
Human Resources Development
The Human Resources Development (HRD) program provides skill assessment services, employability skills training, and career development counseling to individuals in transition and the emerging workforce. The courses taught in this program address six core components:
- Assessment of an individual's assets and limitations
- Development of a positive self-concept
- Development of employability skills
- Development of communication skills
- Development of problem-solving skills
- Awareness of the impact on information technology in the workplace
Personal & Community Enrichment
Lifelong learning courses help adults broaden their talents, stimulate their creativity, develop new skills, improve themselves, and just have fun.

Workforce Development Center
Cleveland Community College offers several different training programs for both businesses in Cleveland County. Whether large or small, CCC can assist in the training of employees with programs tailored to meet individual needs.
