By completing your FAFSA application, you are applying for all federal grants CCC has to offer. Eligibility is determined by the EFC number given to you once you have completed your FAFSA. Federal grants include:
Pell Grant- This grant is awarded to students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree or a degree beyond a bachelor’s degree (undergraduate students) who demonstrates financial need. The maximum amount a student can receive from the Federal Pell Grant is $5550 for the academic year. Federal Pell Grants are only available to students for six years. Once you have six years of full-time eligibility, you are no longer eligible for this grant.
Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)- FSEOG is awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. Pell Grant recipients receive priority to FSEOG awards; however not all Pell Grant recipients will be chosen for this grant. The maximum amount a student will receive from FSEOG is $350 per semester. FSEOG is not awarded for an academic year, recipients are randomly selected each semester.
Work Study (FWS)- FWS provides part-time employment opportunities for eligible students to earn money to meet college expenses. This program requires an additional application, which can be accessed by clicking here or you can pick up an application in the Financial Aid Office.
