Financial Aid Workshops

Financial Aid offers workshops to help you apply for financial aid online. Seating is limited, therefore you must sign-up. In order to complete the FAFSA, you will need the following information with you to the workshop:

  1. Social Security Numbers and birthdates
  2. 2012 Tax Returns for yourself and your spouse (if married)
  3. 2012 W-2s for yourself and your spouse (if married)
  4. Step 2 and 3 for yourself and parents (if dependent)
  5. Other financial information
    o    Amount of Child Support paid or received
    o    Social Security
    o    AFDC
    o    Amount of any investments

The Financial Aid Office also hosts a series of FREE workshops entitled Money Talks: Are You Listening? These workshops are designed to offer you a wealth of information concerning very important financial aid and financial literacy topics.

It is particularly important for you to know and understand how to obtain good credit, keep good credit, and manage your money so that YOU are in control of your finances. Understanding Financial Literacy is a workshop that educates you on these topics. A financial aid expert will provide you guidance in saving money by creating a budget, escaping credit card debt, and obtaining or re-establishing good credit.

Don’t be intimidated by the complexity of financial aid! Financial Aid Made Simple is a workshop that briefly discusses all the imperative information that financial aid students need to know. This workshop is extremely informative and will help you understand more about the financial aid process and how your financial aid works.

You do not have to sign up for these workshops, and they are FREE to ALL students, you do not have to be a financial aid recipient to attend one of the workshops. If you have questions about the workshops or would like to learn more about Financial Literacy or Financial Aid Made Simple, please come by the Financial Aid Office, call 704-669-4028 or email financialaid@clevelandcc.edu for a Financial Aid representative.
