Cleveland Community College Foundation 2012 Annual Report
Excitement Abounds. Cleveland County abounds with excitement as the LeGrand Center nears completion. In 2008, the CCC Foundation purchased the land for the LeGrand Center, a collaborative effort between the CCC Foundation, Cleveland County Schools and Cleveland County Government. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2012, the facility will be home to the Cleveland Early College High School, the College’s division of Continuing Education and the LeGrand Conference Center.
The Foundation has entered the public phase of the campaign to raise the Foundation’s portion of the $20 million project. Members of the local community, corporations, foundations, college faculty and staff, all have joined Team LeGrand by making a pledge/contribution to the campaign. Foundation Board Chairman, Jamey Davis said, “The Foundation’s Board of Directors is committed to making the LeGrand Center an awe-inspiring success.”
In 2011 (July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011) the CCC Foundation received $1,449,735.46 in contributions. Additionally the Foundation received $343,047.50 in new pledges. An endowed scholarship was established in memory of Kay Young Chitty and an annual scholarship established in memory of Dr. Barbara Taylor, both former members of the CCC Faculty. A complete listing of donors to the Capital Campaign can be found on the inside back cover of Career Focus.
