Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Scholarship Program
The Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Funds Scholarship provides support for eligible community college workforce continuing education students pursuing high-demand workforce training programs within qualifying workforce pathways leading to a State or industry-recognized credential.
The GEER fund will pay the cost of the course fee(s) or up to $750, whichever is more. The funds can be used to pay for tuition, fees, books, supplies, credentialing tests, transportation, childcare and other expenses related to completing the course.
CCC has eligible courses and programs in the following areas:
- Criminal Justice
- Emergency Medical Services
- Esthetics (weekend class)
- Information Technology
- Fire and Rescue Services
To apply for a GEER Scholarship students must reside in North Carolina, be enrolling in a workforce continuing education program or course that is at least 96 hours long and leads to a state or industry-recognized credential. These pathways may consist of a single WCE course or a series of courses.
