Apprenticeship Cleveland is a combination of on-the-job training and practical classroom instruction that prepares participants for high-skilled careers with local industry partners.
Jordi Ruiz-Jacinto, an employee at STI Kings Plush in Kings Mountain, participated in the Apprenticeship Cleveland program at CCC. He graduated with his Facility Maintenance diploma, received a certificate of completion from the North Carolina Community College System and his journeyworker certificate from the US Department of Labor.
“The apprenticeship program with STI and CCC has helped me build a better future,” Ruiz-Jacinto said.
STI Kings Plush is a longstanding apprenticeship partner. “STI believes that helping employees reach their full potential shouldn’t be limited to job training but also include education and transferrable life skills. Jordi has proven himself to be a dependable and valued employee in all those areas. Empowering him to reach his goals through STI’s partnership with CCC has been very rewarding,” said Sandra Jenkins, STI’s Human Resources manager.
Jordi has decided to further his education and is currently pursuing an Associate in Applied Science in Industrial Systems.
