Parker Brothers will graduate in May with an AAS degree in Information Technology – Systems Security with a 3.952 GPA.

His journey wasn’t always easy though. At 18, he didn’t have a place to live—often sleeping in his car—and spent many cold nights being hungry and terrified. But Parker was determined to change his future and enrolled at Cleveland Community College.
Four years later, he holds the keys to his own apartment and has a promising career through our Work-Based Learning program.
“I’m currently working for Cleveland County and for DXC supporting Boeing as an intern. I’m really hoping to have a full-time job by the time I graduate in May at one of these companies,” Parker said.
“I really enjoy the work I’m doing in the security and networking fields at both of my jobs,” he continued. “It’s very fulfilling and rewarding work to create a process and call it your own and watch that process be improved and made better. One of the things that really drew me to IT was the fact that it is always changing. It takes a very fluid and adaptive individual to be able to work effectively in the IT field. I pride myself on my ability to adapt and find a way to make things work even when the odds are stacked against me. My grit and determination alone keep me going up the ladder one rung at a time.”
Just this week Parker accepted a full-time job with Cleveland County as Office 365 Administrator. We are proud of you, Parker, for overcoming the obstacles you were faced with and choosing CCC to help guide your path!
