2024 Educator’s Luncheon
Cleveland Community College hosted its annual Educator’s Luncheon to celebrate the partnership between the College, Cleveland County Schools, and Pinnacle Classical Academy. Staff from these organizations gathered to celebrate the Career and College Promise programs each of the high schools offer.
This year, the focus was on CCC’s partnership with CCS and Pinnacle to provide opportunities to students through work-based learning and CCP classes. Students participating in work-based learning and CCP classes in high school can transition into a registered apprenticeship, allowing students to “Earn While they Learn.” Apprenticeship is a great opportunity because students who enter a registered apprenticeship upon high school graduation can gain real-world experience in their chosen field, earn a competitive wage, receive on-the-job training, and attend classes at CCC tuition-free.
Guests heard from Dave Saldo, Plant Manager at Pioneer Motor Bearing, and Tucker Ivie, a current Apprenticeship student with Pioneer. Dave said, “I have five employees with about 250 years combined experience who will be leaving me in less than three years. I had a gap I needed to fill, and fast. The Apprenticeship program is helping me to do that.”
CCC is proud to partner with our local schools to provide students in this program early access to college courses and get a head start on job training. Want to learn more about Work-Based Learning and Apprenticeships, visit https://clevelandcc.edu/continuing-education/apprenticeships/
