Cosmetology Concepts III

This course covers more comprehensive cosmetology concepts. Topics include safety, product knowledge, salon management, salesmanship, skin care, electricity/light therapy, wigs, thermal hair styling, lash and brow tinting, superfluous hair removal, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to safely and competently apply these cosmetology concepts in the salon setting.

This course covers advanced cosmetology concepts. Topics include chemistry and hair structure, advanced cutting and design, and an overview of all cosmetology concepts in preparation for the licensing examination. This course covers judicial structure, process and procedure from incident to disposition, kinds and degrees of evidence, and the rules governing the admissibility of evidence in court. Topics include consideration of state and federal courts, arrest, search and seizure laws, exclusionary and statutory rules of evidence, and other related issues. Upon completion, students should be able to identify and discuss procedures necessary to establish a lawful arrest/search, proper judicial procedures, and the admissibility of evidence.

This course is designed to certify basic CPR Instructors through the American Heart Association. This course teaches instruction skills in general, as well as specific teaching skills. Upon successful completion, the student will be awarded a CPR Instructor's certificate. Pre-requisite: Current certification in CPR Course ''C'' or equivalent.

This course is designed to instruct the layperson or professional responder in the basics of First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), with a focus on cardiac, breathing, and other life-threatening medical emergencies as well as awareness of the hazards of blood borne pathogens. Upon successful completion, the student may qualify to receive certification through a certifying agency.

This course introduces developmentally supportive creative learning environments with attention to divergent thinking, creative problem-solving, evidence-based teaching practices, and open-ended learning materials while applying NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development. Emphasis is placed on observation of process driven learning experiences in art, music, creative movement, dance, and dramatics for every young child age birth through eight, integrated through all domains and academic content. Upon completion, students should be able to examine, create, and adapt developmentally creative learning materials, experiences, and environments for children that are culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse.
