Paying for College
Prior to enrolling, service members are encouraged to contact their Educational Services Officer or Military Service Counselor before deciding to use tuition assistance to pay for tuition costs. The Veteran’s representative at CCC encourages all service members to make this consultation during their initial meeting. Failure to seek prior approval could result in the student being responsible for tuition costs.
All service members are encouraged to apply for our federal and state grant programs by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The College does not participate in any federal, state, or private loan programs; therefore, the College does not certify any loan requests for service members or non-service members.
In addition to aid available for veterans and service members, CCC also offers federal and state grants and scholarships, federal workstudy, and scholarships.

Tuition Reimbursement Policy
Military Tuition Assistance is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded. When a student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of tuition assistance funds originally awarded.
To comply with the Department of Defense, CCC will return any unearned tuition assistance funds on a prorated basis through at least the 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided. Tuition assistance funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based upon when a student stops attending. In instances when a service member stops attending due to a military service obligation, CCC will work with the affected service member to identify solutions that will not result in a student debt for the returned portion in compliance with the Department of Defense policy.
