CCC offers the Associate in General Education Medical Sonography curriculum. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry into the Medical Sonography program at CCCTI.

The Medical Sonography curriculum program at CCCTI provides knowledge and clinical skills in the application of high-frequency sound waves to image internal body structures. Coursework includes physics, cross-sectional anatomy, and abdominal, introductory vascular and obstetrical/gynecological sonography. Competencies are attained in the identification of normal anatomy and pathological processes, use of equipment, fetal growth and development, integration of related imaging, and patient interaction skills. Graduates of accredited programs may be eligible to take examinations in ultrasound physics and instrumentation and specialty examinations administered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and find employment in clinics, physicians’ offices, mobile services, hospitals, and educational institutions.

The Medical Sonography program at CCCTI is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (www.jrcdms.org).

Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) at 25400 US Hwy 19 N., Suite 158, Clearwater, FL 33763, 727-210-2350, www.caahep.org
