State residency for tuition purposes is now determined by the Residency Determination Service (RDS). The Residency Certification Number (RCN) you receive will be used to complete your CCC Application for Admission.

If you are a current student at another institution in NC, you may have already completed this step. We suggest you log into your residency account to ensure that your determination is still valid and has not expired. If it is no longer valid, please complete a new determination.

Establish residency

Have your Residency Certification Number (RCN) handy. Click the Apply Now button below to fill out the admissions application. Please be sure to choose “Special Credit” as your intended program of study when completing the application. It should be the first option in the list of available programs.

Special credit students are required to meet the pre-requisites for a course or demonstrate a necessary level of competence. While high school transcripts are not required for admissions purposes, they may be necessary to verify competence. College transcripts may also be required if the course you wish to take has a pre-requisite that must be verified prior to registration.

If transcripts are required, they must be official and can be submitted electronically to transcripts@clevelandcc.edu or via mail.
