Clarence “Teddy” Banks
SGA President

“SGA allowed me to get more involved on campus…”
My name is Clarence “Teddy” Banks. I am the proud father of one son, a student, and a veteran. I served in the US Army for five years, where I received accommodations, awards, and a Purple Heart. I have lived in Shelby, NC for seven years, where I volunteer as a coach at the local YMCA and Recreation Center.
I started at CCC in 2021 majoring in Associate of Arts. I am a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, and I am currently serving as the President of the Student Government Association at Cleveland Community College.
I have gained so much from being a part of SGA, It has given me a starting point and perspective on how college life should be. SGA has provided various opportunities for me to get involved on campus and in my community. It is and has been an amazing experience! As I lead, I do not want to just hold a title, I want to represent my fellow students in the most efficient and effective way possible, in hopes that they will have the same exciting and positive experience that I have had.
