Annual Event Brings Employers to Campus
Cleveland Community College hosted its annual Advisory Committee Day on March 20. This event brings together employer representatives in areas related to the programs that CCC offers. The goal of this annual event is to receive real-world input on how well CCC is training workers for local employers, and how programs could be improved.
Over 100 employer representatives attended this year’s event along with faculty and staff from the College. After lunch and a presentation by CCC President Dr. Jason Hurst, attendees moved to breakout sessions in individual program areas. They toured classrooms, labs, and shop areas and met with program faculty. The guests were asked to provide feedback and input on the programs, equipment, facilities, and outcomes. This feedback is a vital part of continuous improvement efforts at CCC.
The employers also learned more about how apprenticeships and work-based learning assignments benefit students and help organizations build a talent pipeline.
The advisory committees’ feedback is used to improve instruction, ensure the right equipment is used for training, and identify other resource needs. It also keeps the College informed about business and industry trends.
