The EMT Basic program introduces basic emergency medical care. Topics include preparatory, airway, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma, infants and children, and operations. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve North Carolina State or National Registry EMT Basic certification.

EMT BASIC Class – Didactic/Classroom
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Please bring a copy with you to the first class meeting. Must be age 17 by end date of class.
If a student is under the age of 18 or does not possess a high school diploma nor GED, they must pass CASAS Reading Exam prior to entry into class.
Registration Fee: $180.00 – Non-Affiliated with NC Fire/ EMS Agency
Accident Insurance: $1.30
HCP Card Fee: $10.00
*Students who have an affiliation with a North Carolina Fire Department or EMS Agency are Registration Fee Exempt. ALL STUDENTS MUST PAY $1.30 ACCIDENT INSURANCE FEE.

Uniforms: $210.00
Malpractice Insurance: $16.00
Drug Screen & Background Check: $50.00
Immunization Records: Student bears cost, if necessary, with their health provider.
