Cleveland Community College’s Paramedic Program Goal: To prepare Paramedics who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

Paramedic Program Admission Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must be 18 or older. Placement testing assesses reading, English comprehension, and post-secondary math. Testing may be waived with qualifying college-level English/Math coursework or a degree from an accredited institution. Contact the EMS Coordinator for testing options, transcript review, or questions about applicants under 18.
Current EMT Credential & AEMT to Paramedic Bridge
Must have a valid and active EMT credential:

- North Carolina EMT
- NREMT
- Or equivalent state EMS credential
Co-Requisite – Anatomy & Physiology Course
One of the following must be successfully completed:

- EMS 2163*: NC OEMS A&P
- BIO 163: Basic A&P – Credit offered at CCC, discuss with EMS Coordinator
- BIO 165 & 166: A&P I & II (both required)
- BIO 168 & 169*: A&P I & II (both required)
- Due to course complexity and prerequisites, walk-in registration is not allowed.
*Course(s) offered at CCC.
Paramedic Program Outcomes
CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited programs are required to meet outcome benchmarks each year. Outcomes include the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services, Paramedic test-taker data.
