CCC Shines at SkillsUSA North Carolina State Conference

Cleveland Community College students showcased their talent, skill, and professionalism at the 2025 SkillsUSA North Carolina State Conference, held April 9–11 in Greensboro, NC. Competing under this year’s theme, “Ignite Your Potential,” CCC brought a strong team of 44 students, five of whom participated as models. They made their mark in 27 competition categories and brought home an impressive total of 29 medals.

The students participated in various contests, including Welding, Collision Repair, Cyber Security, Cosmetology, Barbering, Medical Math, Electronics Technology, and Fantasy Hair and Makeup. They placed in all but eight of the categories entered, highlighting the exceptional level of preparation and commitment shown by the team.

CCC’s representatives competed in three team-based events: Crime Scene Investigation (team of three), Community Service (team of three), and Project Showcase Cosmetology (team of two), placing first in all three.

All competitions took place on April 10. Post-secondary awards were presented that evening, while high school competitors stayed another night to attend their awards ceremony on April 11.

CCC’s students secured first place in eleven national-level competition categories, which means they will advance to compete at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, scheduled for June 23–28, 2025, in Atlanta, GA.

These accomplishments reflect the students’ dedication and talent, as well as the unwavering support of the faculty and staff who guided them along the way. With nationals on the horizon, the entire CCC community is excited to see what these rising stars will achieve next.
