This course provides instruction in the application of electrical tools, materials, and test equipment associated with commercial electrical installations. Topics include the NEC; safety; electrical blueprints; planning, layout, and installation of equipment and conduits; and wiring devices such as panels and overcurrent devices. Upon completion, students should be able to properly install equipment and conduit associated with commercial electrical installations.

This course covers the installation of various commercial and industrial piping. Topics include piping in steam, gas, air, fire sprinklers, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to select and install various piping systems for a variety of applications.

This course provides information about contemporary community health and school hygiene issues. Topics include health education and current information about health trends. Upon completion, students should be able to recognize and devise strategies to prevent today's community health problems. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA and ICAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.

This course covers the historical, philosophical, and practical dimensions of community policing. Emphasis is placed on the empowerment of police and the community to find solutions to problems by forming partnerships. Upon completion, students should be able to define community policing, describe how community policing strategies solve problems, and compare community policing to traditional policing.

This course covers programs for convicted offenders that are used both as alternatives to incarceration and in post-incarceration situations. Topics include offenders, diversion, house arrest, restitution, community service, probation and parole, including both public and private participation, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to identify/discuss the various programs from the perspective of the criminal justice professional, the offender, and the community.

This course introduces computer-aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM) applications and concepts. Topics include software, programming, data transfer and verification, and equipment setup. Upon completion, students should be able to produce parts using CAD/CAM applications.

This course is designed to assimilate the concepts within the three domains of the individual, healthcare, and nursing. Emphasis is placed on the concepts of fluid/electrolytes, metabolism, perfusion, mobility, stress/coping, violence, health-wellness-illness, professional behaviors, caring interventions, managing care, healthcare systems, and quality improvement. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide quality, individualized, entry-level nursing care.

This course is designed to develop keyboarding skills and introductory document formatting. Emphasis is placed on keyboarding techniques and formatting basic business documents. Upon completion, students should be able to create documents in an ever-changing workplace.

Students will learn a variety of online and computer programs that will enable them to create presentations, projects, posters, and reports. This class will familiarize students with basic computing principles and terminology while exploring topics such as computer hardware, software, document processing, and a variety of other useful applications.

This course provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults. The curriculum framework and content of instructional material will focus on computer use skills as they relate to: 1) developing basic keyboarding, and word processing and Internet skills, 2) learning technology-based job search strategies to include the use of social networking, 3) applying for employment online, and 4) accessing governmental and educational resources and services.

This course introduces the fundamental principles of computer crime investigation processes. Topics include crime scene/incident processing, information gathering techniques, data retrieval, collection and preservation of evidence, preparation of reports and court presentations. Upon completion, students should be able to identify cyber crime activity and demonstrate proper investigative techniques to process the scene and assist in case prosecution.

This course introduces computer training and support techniques. Topics include methods of adult learning, training design, delivery and evaluation, creating documentation, and user support methods. Upon completion, students should be able to design and implement training and provide continued support for computer users.
