Business Law I

This course introduces the student to the legal and ethical framework of business. Contracts, negotiable instruments, the law of sales, torts, crimes, constitutional law, the Uniform Commercial Code, and the court systems are examined. Upon completion, the student should be able to identify legal and ethical issues that arise in business decisions and the laws that apply to them. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA and ICAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.

This course introduces CAD software as a drawing tool. Topics include drawing, editing, file management, and plotting. Upon completion, students should be able to produce and plot a CAD drawing.

Cake Decorating

Students will master basic decorating skills, using food coloring, brush embroidery and buttercream techniques. Students will also learn common cake and icing pairings, themed cake designs, and the aesthetic appeal of different types of cake design. The instructor will give out a list of additional supplies and materials needed during the first class.

This course is designed to develop the topics of differential and integral calculus. Emphasis is placed on limits, continuity, derivatives and integrals of algebraic and transcendental functions of one variable. Upon completion, students should be able to select and use appropriate models and techniques for finding solutions to derivative-related problems with and without technology. This course is a Universal General Education Transfer Component (UGETC) course and has been approved to transfer under the CAA and ICAA as a general education course in Mathematics for the Associate in Science degree.

Emphasis is placed on the applications of definite integrals, techniques of integration, indeterminate forms, improper integrals, infinite series, conic sections, parametric equations, polar coordinates, and differential equations. Upon completion, students should be able to select and use appropriate models and techniques for finding solutions to integral-related problems with and without technology. This course is a Universal General Education Transfer Component (UGETC) course and has been approved to transfer under the CAA and ICAA as a general education course in Mathematics for the Associate in Science degree.

Carbine Rifle Academy

This course provides students with a fundamental understanding of the carbine rifle including the proper use, care, and storage. Topics that will be covered include: 1. basic emergency care for firearm injuries 2. carbine terminology 3. carbine specifics 4. safety procedures while using and storing carbines 5. federal and state laws 6. 8-hour live fire period of instruction at a local range Students are required to provide a local criminal background check on the first day of class. NO RIFLES ALLOWED ON CCC CAMPUS.

Topics include use of the periodic table, hydrocarbon derivatives, placards and labels, parameters of combustion, and spill and leak mitigation. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the chemical behavior of hazardous materials.

This course introduces evidence-based strategies to build nurturing relationships with each child by applying principles and practical techniques to facilitate developmentally appropriate guidance. Topics include designing responsive/supportive learning environments, cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic influences on behavior, appropriate expectations, the importance of communication with children/families including using technology and the use of formative assessments in establishing intentional strategies for children with unique needs. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate direct/indirect strategies to encourage social skills, self-regulation, emotional expression and positive behaviors while recognizing the relationships between children's social, emotional and cognitive development.
